Salt River Flood - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

How many times have you or your client wanted to find a reliable flood map for a property? There are many sources, and a quick online search will reveal several places to find flood maps.

The primary source for flood maps is FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency. More importantly, flood maps were updated in October of 2021 and property that was once not considered in a flood plain may be considered in one now. You can find more information and the flood map of interest to you at the FEMA Flood Map Service Center.

FEMA has a very helpful website to help people:

Understand why flood maps change
Get flooding notifications
Find their area flood map
Purchase a flood insurance policy
Learn what an Elevation Certificate is and why one is needed
Resources for Real Estate and Lending professionals
Community Floodplain Management

The FEMA website is mobile accessible so even when you are out and about, if you have internet – you can access the flood information for the property you are showing.

You can also find WeSERV member insurance agents who sell FEMA flood insurance and can walk your client through the process online at our WeSERV Affiliate Directory.
