Sierra Vista – Would You like to Apply to Fill the Vacant City Council Seat?

Recently, Mayor Pro Tem Rachel Gray resigned from the Sierra Vista City Council in order to run for Sierra Vista Mayor in the November election.

The City of Sierra Vista has announced it is accepting letters of interest from those interested in filling the seat to the end of the term, Dec. 31, 2022.

Letters and supportive materials may be submitted to the Sierra Vista City Clerk starting July 14, 2022 to 5pm Wednesday July 20th. You may email your submission package to the City clerk or drop it off at Sierra Vista City Hall.

If you decide to apply for the vacant seat your letter must contain:

  • Applicant’s name, Address and Telephone Number
  • A statement of applicant’s qualifications to serve on City Council
  • Reasons why the applicant would like to serve on City Council
  • A notarized statement attesting they are a qualified elector of the City and have lived in the City continuously for a 1-year period. You can request this form from the City Clerk.
