Update on REALTOR® Legislation, City Plans and WeSERV GAD Events

We are now about a month into the Arizona legislative session. I have two legislative update covering bills I think may be of interest to you and your clients. You can access those two blog posts at www.weservgad.org. click on Arizona.

SB 1021 is the bill Arizona REALTORS supports that allows the Arizona Department of Revenue to accept electronic signatures. It has been amended by Senator Ugenti-Rita. You can read the amendment, the Senate Summary and the Senate Engrossed bill at www.weservgad.org. The bill was transmitted to the House on Feb. 3rd.

SB 1129 is the bill Arizona REALTORS supports that allows a non-licensed employee of real estate brokerage to accept rent checks as part of their clerical functions. It was heard in the Senate Commerce Committee on Feb. 6th and will be heard in the Senate Rules Committee on February 10th. The bill originated in the House as HB 2351 with one amendment prescribing a receipt be provided if rent is paid in person.
