WeSERV Government Affairs BAH Report for Luke AFB – July 2023

WeSERV Government Affairs provides Fort Huachuca and Luke Air Force Base real estate market updates with local rental and purchase data each year and periodically throughout the year.

Military members who do not live on base receive a housing allowance known as BAH. Each summer the Pentagon reviews BAH and makes decisions on the next year’s BAH amounts.

As you can imagine, as rental rates increase, the BAH also needs to increase, but it isn’t automatic. The bases need to request increases and justify that request. To aid our active duty military, WeSERV provides information that is informative and helpful.

In addition to market data, we included economic analysis, the WeSERV housing study The Web of Solutions, and a letter providing context to the data regarding our real estate market. Included in that letter of context, we provided examples of issues we are concerned may impact housing in the future.

Both Fort Huachuca and Luke Air Force Base have extended their thanks for the helpful information and data.

If you or someone you know is active duty at Ft. Huachuca or Luke AFB, please let me know. One of the helpful portions of our report is when we can bring active duty family experiences to light. I never identify active duty or their family members other than to say Comments from Luke/Ft. Huachuca Families.

In 2021 and 2022, WeSERV Government Affairs held training classes for PMCs and residential property owners training them on listing their rentals on the Luke AFB rental portal. If you have experience with this portal, please contact Liz Recchia or Krys Guevara at WeSERV Government Affairs. We would like to know more about your experience with the portal and if it was helpful to Luke personnel trying to locate housing.
